Accounting for one third of their business, PCS Nitrogen, a unit of Potash Corporation is one of the largest nitrogen producers in the world. PCS Nitrogen contracted with Evans for several construction projects located on their 200 acre campus in Augusta, Georgia.
Evans provided design/build services, and completed shell building construction with tenant build-out of a new 84,000 SF office and research facility. The blast-resistant building is constructed of a corrosion resistant steel structure standing on 441 piles. The new facility is considered a safe haven for employees, providing them with greater blast and chemical protection in the event of a hazardous chemical release. Scope of work also included the construction of a new contractor’s building, an emergency response facility and a new entrance along with multiple site improvements.
