2024 – Success through Service

President’s Message: Together we’re defining what it means to be #EvansStrong

To review, we completed the year with a diversified sales market and an annual revenue of $2.26 billion. Where 85% of Evans’ workload was once driven by the distribution and logistics industry, we’re now more balanced, having it reflect only 33% of our total sales volume. Increased momentum within Advanced Technology and Manufacturing as well as specialty work for DOD and DOE has contributed to market diversification across all divisions. Our average deal size also expanded, creating growth without the added risk associated with increasing project volume. These larger project scopes required larger project teams allowing us to bring on new team members, build comradery, trust, and instill our culture into jobsites.

By being intentional with entering new markets and opening new offices such as Jacksonville in Q3, our ability to provide best in class services to everyone we work with increased. The high caliber in which we deliver those services is what differentiates us from our competition and sets us apart in the industry. Expanded capabilities within VDC give our clients and project teams access to 3D visualizations of project designs, BIM coordination for seamless integration of multiple disciplines’ models, and drone and aerial surveys. We also added teams to oversee Procurement, Design Integration, Scheduling, MEP, and Quality Management, which adds depth and breadth to our delivery.

Throughout the year, we concentrated on ways to add additional value and to drive the mindset “what can we do better”. In response, we joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a gold member and partnered with the Council of American States in Europe (CASE) to offer cross border expansion services. We added a Learning and Development Manager to provide hands-on training as well as implemented a peer led mentorship program. Our internship class was the largest to date, covering a broad range of studies and reaching Universities across the US.

For the second year in a row, ENR recognized Evans as the #1 Design-Build contractor in the Southeast and we were honored again to receive a Top Workplaces USA award. With safety a primary focus of ours, we are proud to have zero recordable incidents along with being recognized by ABC as a Platinum Step award recipient and by Avetta as a 2024 ESG innovator.

Our focus for 2025 is to provide success through our service. May it transcend though charitable acts as well as in how we help and treat our clients, subcontractors, designers, and most importantly our people. When training or mentoring someone, go above and beyond to help them grow. When working in teams, work to make everyone on the team better in their role. When providing resources, make sure they are delivered in a way that surpasses the industry’s standard. If we do that, combining our skills and expertise Evans can overcome challenges and achieve anything. We’re a group of talented people who accomplish more when we work together than individuals who work alone. That is how we will continue to create success and build upon the great service we have created – what #EvansStrong embodies.
