GARDEN CITY, GA (July 1,2022) – Evans General Contractors contributed $5,000 to enhance the Garden City Fire Department’s suppression and emergency efforts to commercial properties. The contribution was given to Fire Marshal Carlos Nevarez at the Garden City Fire Department located on 2406 Highway 80 West in Garden City, Georgia. The resource will assist with fires and specialize in rescue operations in the industrial area of the community.

The city of Garden City Industrial area has doubled in the past two years with warehousing and industrial businesses. With all the growth, the risk of fire hazards, life safety, and the number of calls has also increased. Training is vital for fire departments to become familiar with equipment and techniques for all levels of emergencies.

“Partnering with local construction companies, especially one of the companies who build here, and knows how critical warehousing and industrial risk is to us in emergency incidents. I want to thank Evans General Contractors for their commitment and funding to allow us to protect life further and enhance fire safety in Garden City”, said Fire Chief Michael Dick.

“At Evans, Safety is our number one priority. When we were made aware that the Garden City Fire Department needed Industrial/Warehouse Training, Evans was eager to assist. As our community grows and adapts to the large influx of industrial real estate, our first responders must grow and adapt at the same pace, if not faster. With this donation, Evans hopes the Garden City Fire Department can simulate emergencies in warehouses and industrial facilities, providing their crews with specialized Industrial/Warehouse training before responding to emergencies in commercial properties. We look forward to working with Garden City for the foreseeable future!”
