Richard T. Evans

Chairman/Founder

Tim founded Evans General Contractors in 2001 leading the company as President and CEO until January 2021. He now serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, where he is responsible for the overall guidance and long-term strategies and initiatives of Evans. Tim has more than 40 years of construction experience and has led the Evans’ team into becoming a nationally and internationally recognized design-build firm. Passionate about giving back, Tim started the Silver Lining Foundation, Inc. in 2009 and encourages community outreach in all Evans’ locations. Tim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from Georgia State University and is a past member of the Georgia Southern Foundation Board of Trustees. In 2022 he was appointed by Governor Brian P. Kemp as a member of the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents representing the 6th congressional District.

RT Evans

President/CEO

As President and CEO, RT leads growth and retention initiatives for the company. He joined Evans in 2008 holding roles as Vice President, Division Manager, Project Manager, and Assistant Superintendent. With a comprehensive understanding of a wide array of manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and corporate environment facilities, RT’s hands-on experience provides real world oversight and direction for Evans’ clients, team, and design partners. RT is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and serves on their Foundation Board. He is also a member of GEDA and NAIOP.

Jeff Jepson

Executive Vice President/COO

Jeff is a principal at Evans and serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the Board of Directors, he helps plan the strategic direction of the company and then implements the growth strategies to help Evans meet those goals. Jeff has been actively involved in the marketing, sales, and project execution of over $1 Billion across all market segments at Evans.

Chris Hilgeman

Senior Vice President

Chris joined Evans in 2002 and is a Senior Vice President. His experience in real estate development, logistics, operations, design, and estimating add significant value and depth to Evans’ preconstruction efforts. From initial client contact through design and permitting, Chris ensures client needs are met and exceeded. Chris has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a proud NAIOP member.

Christian Hersacher

Senior Vice President

As Senior Vice President, Christian serves on the Board of Directors and oversees Evans’ Manufacturing and Food & Beverage Markets. A German native, Christian is actively involved in overseas business development, international client relations, and foreign expansion efforts for the company ̶ directly contributing to the start-up of several cutting-edge facilities throughout the U.S. and Europe. Christian has a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the European Institute of Industrial Engineering, a post graduate degree in Industrial Engineering, and REFA Economist Business Organization. He also holds a Radiation Officer license and is a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC).

Jared Heald

Senior Vice President

Jared leads Evans’ teams handling legal, risk management, and human resources matters for the Company. He has over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry as well as experience working at a Fortune 250 Company specializing in Insurance and Risk Management Services and at a consulting firm providing Accounting and Financial Services prior to joining the construction industry. Jared holds a BBA in Finance and a Juris Doctorate.

Lee Mims

CFO

As CFO, Lee is responsible for managing all accounting and treasury activities as well as creating sound fiscal strategies for the company. In addition to finance and accounting experience, Lee brings a solid understanding of the construction industry to the team. Having worked in project management, he has a proven record of project accounting and process management with an innate ability to implement technology to streamline business operations. Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. He is a licensed CPA and a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

Oliver Kern

VP of International Business Development

Oliver joined Evans to start the Germany office in 2009. As Vice President of International Business Development, Oliver supports foreign business growth and European expansion efforts for the company and heads activities as it relates to overseas project development, owner liaison, and design-build coordination. He has worked on projects for Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Magna and is directly responsible for bringing several high-profile manufacturing and industrial projects to the United States. Oliver holds an Electrical Engineering and Automation Degree.

Kyle Davidson

SVP Life Sciences & Advanced Technology

As Senior Vice President of Life Sciences & Advanced Technology, Kyle is responsible for leading all initiatives for Evans in this market segment. He holds advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biochemical Regulatory Engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Kyle joined Evans, in 2018, to lead the Life Sciences Group after spending 15 years in the pharmaceutical division with a large national general contractor. He brings over 20 years of experience in the design and construction of facilities supporting the latest innovations in this market segment. Kyle has completed projects both domestic and international in roles ranging from technical procurement through Division Manager Kyle is active in his community serving on the board of directors as membership chair for a local non-profit group and continues to support his alma mater by guest lecturing in special topics engineering classes.

Christian Matthews

Vice President

As Vice President, Christian is passionate about providing design-build solutions for our clients’ projects. He joined Evans in early 2020 and previously held leadership roles for several national and local engineering design firms. As a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), he offers an expert understanding in facility design and creativity in Figuring Stuff Out (FSO). Christian’s long-term experience in the RTP Life Science market provides real world value and project leadership for Evans’ clients, team, and design partners. Christian is a graduate of NC State University, holding a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. His design and construction industry expertise are notable with certifications as a LEED professional, Project Management Profession (PMP), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). He is also an active member of NAIOP, NCBio, NCEDA and ISPE.

Corey Lemming

VP of Advanced Technology

As Vice President of Advanced Technology, Corey is responsible for leading all Mission Critical and Advanced Technology initiatives for Evans. He joins us with 15 years of experience with a large national contractor and a degree from Auburn University. Corey has led large co-location and hyperscale data centers programs nationally for some of the largest technology clients in the world.  He has also built advanced tech workspace and innovation and design centers, such as Apple Park in California. Corey has delivered over $5B worth of Advanced Technology facilities and is an active member of the 7x24 exchange and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).

Steven Schwartz

VP of Manufacturing

With an expertise in the construction industry that spans more than 3 decades, Steve is well appointed to serve as Evans’ Vice President of Manufacturing. His specialized focus on conceptual design and process equipment coordination allows manufacturing clients the ability to realize improved efficiencies in their production capabilities. As well, Steve has a comprehensive understanding of project management, preconstruction, field and office operations, and project commissioning/startup and is responsible for recruiting talent that expands the company’s manufacturing services. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Zach Norris

VP of Food & Beverage

As Vice President of Food & Beverage, Zach is responsible for leading all Food & Beverage related initiatives for Evans.  This includes establishing and maintaining client relationships, creating seamless project deliveries, and executing strategies that contribute to Evans’ overall growth and retention efforts in this market. With 15 years’ experience, and a broad exposure to a wide variety of food and beverage processes, Zach has previously negotiated and delivered over $400M in projects. He is keenly focused on building strong teams while striving to deliver successful solutions. Zach holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is a member of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA), National Coffee Association (NCA), and Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA).

Bob Kovacs

VP of Preconstruction

As the Vice President of Preconstruction, Bob manages, directs, and coordinates estimating activities for Evans’ projects nationally. This includes quantity surveys, project schedules, early budgeting, and bid preparation.  Under his guidance, the preconstruction team accurately estimates conceptual, design-build, and design-bid-build projects for public/private manufacturing and food & beverage facilities, distribution centers and warehouses, corporate offices, healthcare, and life sciences markets. He has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2003. A resident of Cherokee County, Bob has been involved with the city of Holly Springs Downtown Development Authority, served on their Planning and Zoning Commission and served as county commissioner. He earned a B.S in Construction and Contracting Engineering Technology from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Tim Miller

VP of Preconstruction, North Carolina

As Vice President of Preconstruction, Tim takes client visions and brings them to fruition by guiding them through all aspects of the design process and into construction. Located in Evans’ Raleigh office, Tim is responsible for the preconstruction efforts throughout North Carolina and beyond. He brings over 15 years of forward-thinking leadership to the group with a wealth of experience directing teams, mentoring young professionals, and developing efficiencies and innovation in preconstruction processes. He has vast experience in commercial construction from warehouses to life sciences facilities, to large public works projects and high rises. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology from Appalachian State University, a LEED AP BD+C accreditation from US Green Building Council, is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh, and is a 40 under 40 honoree. Prior to his construction career, Tim served as a US Army Officer in 2 combat deployments (Iraq 2004, Afghanistan 2006). He is a board member for Operation Coming Home, a position held since 2014, and was previously a board member of the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education.

Sarah Rothwein

VP/ Senior Preconstruction Coordinator

Sarah serves as Vice President and Senior Preconstruction Coordinator and is directly involved with all Preconstruction and Marketing efforts for the company. She implements people focused initiatives and best practices for project bids. Actively engaged in corporate growth, subcontractor retention, and synergy amongst regional offices, Sarah also heads administrative oversight for the Atlanta Headquarters. On behalf of Evans, Sarah attends local/regional economic and industry focused conferences. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Business Marketing and joined Evans in 2013.

Senior Vice President of Field Operations, John heads all company construction efforts and field operations. He works closely with preconstruction staff and management to ensure proper scheduling and resource coordination as well as develop controls and procedures for Evans. John is highly experienced in industrial concrete and steel applications. He holds memberships with ACI and AISC, certifications in steel erection, tilt wall, NPDES, OSHA, and many others. John constantly seeks ways to fine-tune best practices and create process efficiencies believing the best way to solve a problem is going through it not around.

Ronnie Cupp

SVP/Division Manager Atlanta

An industry veteran, holding a General Contractors license in multiple states, Ronnie boasts expertise that spans across the country from California to Miami, Detroit to Dallas. His adaptability and network provide Evans the ability to explore areas for growth both geographically and industry focused. As Senior Vice President and Division Manager of Atlanta, Ronnie is responsible for ensuring the Atlanta team’s success as well as the success of new offices. Ronnie has a B.S. from Auburn University and is a member of their Alumni Association. He is also a member of NAIOP and an Eagle Scout.

Jesse Bentley

SVP/Division Manager Savannah

Jesse joined Evans in 2009 and has held positions within the field and in operations. His proficiency in contract negotiations, design, scheduling, and cost control enable him to excel as Senior Vice President and Division Manager of Savannah. As such, Jesse is responsible for Division growth and retention efforts. He has a B.S. in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University and is a member of GEDA, and NAIOP. A graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, Jesse remains active in the organization currently serving as a board member and treasurer (2020, 2021). He is passionate about giving back to the community raising over $130,000 for BackPack Buddies.

Darryl Strunk

SVP/Division Manager Charleston

As Senior Vice President and Division Manager, Darryl is responsible for the overall growth and management of the Charleston Office as well as contributing to the strategic initiatives of the company. An industry veteran, Darryl’s leadership abilities and experience cover a wide array of project types and strengthens Evans’ position in the market. Darryl attended Kennesaw State University and the Southern Tech (CNST) Program. He is also a supporting member of Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, SCEDA, and CRDA.

Josh Grein

VP/Division Manager Greenville

As Vice President and Division Manager, Josh is responsible for the overall success of the Greenville Division. Joining Evans General Contractors in 2013, Josh brought technical and management skills derived from spending the first chapter of his career as a Structural Engineering (PE) and Project Manager in the precast/pre-stressed concrete industry. Since then, he has successfully delivered over 20 large construction projects to clients in an array of markets including Warehouse/Distribution, Automotive Manufacturing, Life Sciences, and Office. Josh attended Clemson University where he attained a Civil Engineering degree and later an MBA. Currently he is a member of Upstate SC Alliance, ASCE, and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

Chad Marshall

VP/Division Manager Charlotte

Chad leads the Evans' Charlotte team as Vice President and Division Manager. Highly motivated and passionate about Evans’ success, he oversees retention efforts while managing the overall growth and financial stability of the office. His expertise in large complex projects ranging from industrial to office and retail, drive value for clients across all of Evans’ core markets. Chad is actively involved in NAIOP, TCA (Tilt-Up Concrete Association), and serves on TCA’s Board of Directions for Tilt Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow. He earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from Columbus State.

Sam Holbrook

VP/Division Manager Raleigh

As Vice President and Division Manager, Sam is responsible for the overall success of the Raleigh office. An industry veteran with 25 years’ experience across multiple market sectors, Sam has led project teams that have completed over $500M of work in the Triangle area and over $1B throughout his career. He has held multiple field and operation roles giving Sam the unique ability to provide lessons learned and best practices across all aspects of construction. He is passionate about innovation, prefabrication, continuous improvement (LEAN), building high performing teams, exceeding client expectations and giving back to the community. Sam is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh, a member of LCI (Lean Construction Institute), is a LEEP AP, and holds a CHC (Certified Healthcare Constructor) certification. Sam earned a B.S. of Civil Engineering and a B.A. of Business Administration from Michigan Technological University.

Chad Hanson

Vice President Greenville

Chad serves as Vice President. He oversees growth and retention efforts and provides direction for the Greenville office. Previously holding positions of Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator, and Senior Estimator, Chad actively participates in all business development and preconstruction efforts for his region. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from Clemson University and is a member of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

Chad Smith

Corporate Safety Director

As the Corporate Safety Director, Chad is responsible for creating a safe work environment. He ensures the effectiveness of occupational safety and health by identifying and reducing hazards for all levels of field and administrative operations including logistical and managerial oversight of the Evans’ Safety Team. Chad conducts work site audits, establishes checks and balances consistent with Evans’ safety requirements, as well as ensures full compliance with all local, state, and federal occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements. Chad oversees training provided by select third party agencies and performs all in-house safety and competent person certification. He is an authorized OSHA instructor, holds numerous safety trainer licenses, and is a member of many safety organizations including ASSE, NSPE, CCHEST, NSC, and Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
