EuWe Eugen Wexler

Established in 1968 as a supplier of only metal products, the German-based EuWe Group boasts international operations with workers in three countries and is the exclusive supplier to 10 of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. Included among the EuWe Group’s products are center consoles, pillar trim, trunk panels, window frames, cladding, door sills, rear vents, engine compartment fairings and more.

In 2015, EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc., a subsidiary of EuWe Group contracted with Evans to construct a 67,000 sf manufacturing facility in the Alliance Industrial Park located within Anderson County, South Carolina. The facility will solely focus on the production of automotive plastic interior parts to support its main customer, BMW. Scope included a 30,000 sf assembly/warehouse area, 24,000 sf production area, and approximately a 13,000 sf two-story office building. It is a pre-engineered metal building constructed out of pre-cast or tilt-up concrete panels and insulated metal panels with a reinforced slab grade. Specific to the production area is the 36-foot clear height requirement to support the 25-foot clear under structural mounted crane. The office building’s height is 16 feet floor to ceiling.

Then in 2021, EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc., contracted with Evans a second time to design and build a 124,000 sf expansion to their existing 67,000 sf facility previously built by Evans. Scope of work for this project includes 13 acres of sitework, construction, interior finishes, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. The space also included LED lighting with motion sensors, 10 vertical hi-lift dock doors equipped with dock levelers, and additional restrooms.

The completion and expansion of this facility enabled EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc. to better serve its North American customers and increase their overall operations allowing for significant logistical efficiencies in supplying product for BMW.
