Project Details
Festo, a German-based manufacturing company, is a leading supplier of automation technology. Their products serve a wide range of industries including biotechnology, automotive, and electronics globally. Festo contracted with Evans the construction of a new high-tech manufacturing facility in Mason, Ohio.
The 225,000 sf building is composed of a structural steel frame with concrete spread footings and a mechanically fastened TPO roof system. The two-story structure is wrapped in insulated metal panels with storefront and curtainwall glazing. The building’s interior consists of approximately 50,000 sf of administrative space, 145,000 sf of production/logistics space and a 30,000 SF mezzanine. A state-of-the-art compressed air system was installed throughout the production/logistics areas, along with an automated storage and retrieval system that ties into an intricate system of conveyors and stackers that both expedites and streamlines the inventory/distribution network. Scope of work included pre-construction, value engineering and design-build services as well as complete shell building construction, tenant build-out and a comprehensive site work package.
