Project Details
Feuer Powertrain GmbH is a German-based crankshaft manufacturing company. They produce nearly one million cast and forged crankshafts every year for several major automotive manufacturers around the world. Feuer Powertrain contracted with Evans for the design-build construction of their new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tunica, Mississippi.
The 168,000 sf building is composed of a conventional steel structure with concrete tilt-wall panels wrapped with insulated metal panels and a mechanically fastened TPO roof system. High R-Value wall panels and the roofing membrane were used to increase the building’s energy efficiency. The facility holds manufacturing and distribution areas as well as an office with mezzanine and features a soundproof modular wall system and weather controlled exterior sun shades. A conductive epoxy floor system covers all production areas for the use of automated guided forklift traffic. Mechanical systems throughout the building include full HVAC, compressed air, chilled water and a reverse osmosis system. Evans installed cutting and grinding oil piping with an oil filtration system as well as four separate exhaust systems and make-up air units. Scope of work included complete design-build services, shell building construction with all finishes, ground improvements and a comprehensive site work package.
