Project Details
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation designs, manufactures, and services the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircrafts. Gulfstream contracted with Evans to construct and renovate several new and existing buildings on their corporate campus located in Savannah, Georgia.
Gulfstream’s RDC I is a one-story 100,000 sf R&D facility composed of a conventional steel structure with concrete tilt-wall panels, architectural canopies and a TPO roof system. Inside, the building houses a demo/fly-through room, acoustics lab, and a CAD training studio.
Gulfstream’s RDC II consists of two buildings constructed simultaneously. The first building is a one-story 82,500 sf R&D facility, the second, a two-story 108,000 sf office. Both buildings were constructed utilizing shallow foundation systems with conventional steel frames. Their exteriors feature architectural grade tilt-up concrete panels with a combination of curtain wall glass and punched windows. The R&D facility contains positive/negative pressure labs, cleanrooms and 5-ton cranes. The buildings are connected via a covered walkway and are located only a short distance from RDC I.
