Evans is providing the design and construction for a 120,000sf of building footprint in Phase I, consisting of 100,000 SF of fully automated manufacturing halls with high density warehouse and 20,000 SF of office, training and quality control. The site development is designed for a future expansion with an ultimate build-out of 250,000 SF of manufacturing/warehouse and 40,000 SF office. This full campus build-out footprint would maximize the allowable 70% impervious site coverage allowed within the existing GI-C (General Industrial-Conditional) zoning.

This building will be the first facility in the United States for the company that will develop state-of-the-art battery technology products for a wide range of mobile and stationary applications. This unique facility will showcase the company’s new technology/product and unveil the new product line reinforcing the brand and identity through the campus.

The site development features consideration for entry points for visitors/clients, factory employees and incoming and outgoing trucks. Traffic flow and view sheds were considered based on efficiency of operations as wells as potential impact on the surrounding neighborhoods, community features and the adjacent city park.

The building design philosophy is consistent with a high-tech advanced manufacturing facility while also considering building sustainability. The general building aesthetic design direction was to provide the back-of-house manufacturing/warehouse that would be high-bay open space that could be flexible to accommodate future evolution of the processes within. The office part of the building would be a signature element to establish the identity to the new product line. This head-of-the-building will provide the front door and arrival experience to the new manufacturing facility for the community, employees, and potential clients.
