Evans General Contractors was contracted by KeHE Distributors to deliver a 993,912 SF cold storage distribution facility in Dallas, Texas. The building is LEED certified and represents the fourth delivered build-to-suit for KeHE with others previously built in Colorado, Georgia, and Indiana.

To optimize logistics, automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) racks, vertical lift modules (VLM), and powered conveyors were installed and 119 dock doors provide convenient loading/unloading. Three separate cold storage areas were designed to accommodate the necessary temperature of products stored. A 153,000 SF freezer at -10°, a 90,000 SF cooler at 36°, and a 2,000 SF protein room at 28°. The remaining 740,000 SF is dry storage space. The facility also offers 10,000 SF of administrative spaces including lobby spaces, office areas, breakroom, and locker rooms.
