Project Details
CenterPoint Properties provides modern logistics solutions for their clients through the development and management of industrial property along with related rail, road, and port infrastructure. On behalf of their client the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), CenterPoint contracted with Evans for the design-build construction of a new state-of-the-art distribution facility in Suffolk, Virginia.
The 350,000 sf tilt-wall distribution facility features a fiber reinforced slab, diamond dowels and dowel baskets in the loading dock bay, a TPO roof system with mechanically attached ISO, and an ESFR fire protection sprinkler system. Inside, the distribution area boasts custom storage racks, VNA racks, pick modules and a fully automated sorting conveyor system. The building also contains 12,500 sf of office and administrative space. Scope of work included design-build services, complete shell building construction, tenant build-out and a comprehensive site work package.
